Tax Portal Notice

A simple guide to what the portal can and cannot do.

Secure communication and intake

The portal helps you start requests, share documents, provide updates, receive secure messages, and check the status of your requests.

Chat and text answers

Chat and automated text replies can explain common tax terms and guide the next step. They do not make final decisions about your filing status, dependents, credits, deductions, tax liability, refund, or eligibility. Individual services are reviewed before they are completed.

Your responsibility

Please provide complete and accurate information and every tax document you received. Tell us about changes to your address, household, dependents, income, direct deposit, or IP PIN. Do not submit another person's information unless you are authorized to do so.

Status updates

The portal shows where your service stands. Sending a message, uploading a document, or receiving an estimate does not by itself mean a return has been filed or accepted. You will see an update in the portal when your return is filed and when the IRS or state accepts it.
