What this portal is for

Impost™ provides tax services. This secure portal is used to share tax-return requests, documents, updates, notices, and account messages with the firm.

Information you provide

This can include contact details, tax-return information, messages, and documents you choose to submit. We use it to verify access, process your request, communicate securely, protect the portal, and provide our services.

How we protect it

Access is restricted to verified clients, authorized firm personnel, and the service providers that run the portal. Sensitive requests are handled inside the portal. Do not send Social Security numbers, bank logins, card numbers, or tax documents through ordinary email or third-party file links.

How information is used

Client tax information is used for operating this portal and providing our services. It is not used for advertising or sold to advertising networks.

How we use artificial intelligence

Impost uses an artificial intelligence (AI) service to process its services, with human oversight. AI is used to:

• answer general questions in the portal chat and reply to text messages;
• read tax documents you upload, such as W-2 and 1099 forms, and organize the information on them;
• prepare your tax return and carry out other services;
• prepare summaries, estimates, and messages, and keep notes from past conversations for the firm;
• help keep the portal and your account secure, including detecting unusual activity.

To do this, the information involved, which can include names, Social Security numbers, income amounts, and document images, is sent securely to the AI service and the result is returned to the firm. The firm oversees the work AI performs and reviews your return before it is filed. AI does not sign documents or file a return without the firm's approval. Chat and text answers are general information, not advice about your specific return.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the portal: secure hosting and storage, tax return preparation and e-filing, email, phone and text services, and the AI service described above. They process information on our behalf so the portal can work. We do not share client tax information with anyone for their own marketing.

Text messages

Portal text alerts are off unless you turn them on in Settings and confirm your number. You can turn them off in Settings at any time or reply STOP. Email updates continue either way. Texts you send to Impost may receive an automated reply.
